Microsoft edge

I have the wonderful Windows 10 on my computer now.
I run two cleanup programs - Wise Disk & Ccleaner.
I have Cortana & Microsoft Edge disabled. When I run
Ccleaner it takes off somewhere from 4000 to 5000 files.
How is this possible if I have it disabled?

See if you have this file on your Win10.

C:\Windows\System32\cleanmgr.exe

If so, run it daily and it will keep cleaning up any mess.

It's on Win7-64, too, but it hangs, apparently. Ten minutes ago it started "analysing memory dumps". Maybe it takes hours, we'll see

Run it on its auto settings and it works OK. You can add extras but it gets most things most of the time.

All that I am doing and Ccleaner is still finding over
5,000 items by Microsoft Edge.

Wise Cleaner, Ccleaner, Cleanmgr & Microsoft Edge disabled
& Microsoft Edge still is doing it's invasive thing!!!!!!

Just stop using Edge, that is the solution. Statistics wise its a dead one, most go for a Google based browser where Edge is a flop.

Hi Hutch,
I never use M Edge.  I think I have it disabled.
Every time I run Ccleaner Microsoft Edge is shown
as gobbling up 5000 or so K.
I am using google chrome as my browser.
Can't send a sample from Ccleaner as it is a .jpg file.

You can always think off CCleaner using fake data in order to show up as 'useful'.

Working in Windows 10 - Found 4 files listed in Windows/system32
as follows -- Microsoftedgebchostel.exe, Microsoftedgecp.exe,
Microsoftedgedevtools.exe, Microsoftedgesh.exe..
I was able using this tool to alter the permissions to let me
alter the name of the above 4 items. I took off 1 letter before
the ".exe" for each file.
I then ran Ccleaner and it showed that Microsoftedge was still
functioning. According to what I did in Windows/system32 it should
be totally disabled....
