If pouring ketchup on a lousy Van Gogh painting helps to make people aware that, for example, the immense artwork in Venice will be swallowed up by the sea if we don't act now against climate change, then Ms Getty's money is well spent.

Sea level have little to do with short cycles (800-1200 years) but with glacial cycles (100000-120000 years).

Nothing can't stop sea level to raise 30 m more in next 10000 years.

Ok. Unless you learn how to manage the Sun.

In 80 years, it will be around one metre, says the NASA. That's enough to drown Venice at least partly

Little uncertainties remain (NASA):
Quote
if the Greenland ice sheet were to completely melt and the meltwater were to completely flow into the ocean, then global sea level would rise by about seven meters

Ackshooly, sea-level rise is the least of our worries. (Hue-mons can and do move; they can move inland.)

What's going to kill us in the end is loss of habitat, meaning crop failures and the inability to feed the population. Wait for it ...

Or you build dikes like in the Netherlands. Some cities are 6 meters below sea level.
We call that adaptation.

And you've got plenty of time since the sea level is rising just 1.8mm a year at a steady pace over the last 250 years.

Present days sea rise 3 cm/10 years. Measurement with satellites 1998-2008 and 2008-2018 were both 3 cm. Could be an increase in that rate.
Some geologist speculated that mean must be close to 5 cm/10 years, then 11 cm/10 years sound a little to much but maybe   :undecided:

Remember, climate alarm scientists predicted in 2012 that Arctic ice would disappear within 10 years.
The reverse is true, there is more ice now than 10 yrs ago.
Who still believes those prophets of doom?

Climate alarm scientists, blindly followed by the regime press, claim the poles are warming twice as fast.
Doesn't match satellite measurements.

NP : barely warming
SP : no warm-up

CO2 is equal to SP and NP

Because climate alarm scientists and our regular media only report unilaterally with bright red colors about "warmer than ever".
Here are the real measurements: a bit warmer here, a bit colder there.
Nothing special.

No, that's just cherrypicking. Here are the real measurements.

The high electricity price make they order lot of wood for good old carbonate heating, even reports of stealing wood from places where tourist can wander and stay night in a cabin
Old trick to save energy is lower heating of your house to 18 c instead if 20 c,because heating formula is constant, you get % of degrees difference lower heating cost, oil or electricity
But higher temperatures, because of climate makes it possible in summer to only heat warm water when needed,no need to warm up house = no need to pollute earth directly using oil/ wood or indirectly by power plants using some kind of carbon based fuel, people often forget about this when they say electric trains are clean
Here we had record temp 19.7 c few days ago, which limits the need to heat houses, compared to when -20c and wind blowing increase the cooling effect
Which also reduce need for direct/indirect carbon fuel usage
Seem environmentalists are blind to this, when nuclear power is reduced, being depending on unreliable wind and solar power, when no wind and cloudy weather and reduced nuclear power plants, carbon fuel powerplants might be used so industry still runs and houses don't get freezing

We have had a "heat wave" in Sydney, 4 days in a row where the sun was actually shining. Then its turned back to overcast so the heat wave is over.

As far as climate activists are concerned, desperate bullsh*t to try and make a point when no-one is listening. Have you heard of the horse sh*t "climate emergency" ? Phony as a 3 dollar bill. When people in parts of the world are going cold and hungry, these morons want to shut down food and energy to "Save The Planet".

Any evil thought would say that it is an investment in the future to obtain massive government subsidies as they have already been achieved in other areas. Half the world living off the work of the other half.

Genius activists glue themselves to Porsche museum floor, then complain they're hungry

Within just hours the protestors complained the glue hurt their hand, they were cold and hungry, needed the bathroom, and that the lights had been turned off.

"Environmentalists" kill people

Berlin: Accident Raises Questions About ‘Last Generation’ Blockades

Quote
A cyclist sustained life-threatening injuries today when she was run over by a concrete mixer truck in Berlin’s Wilmersdorf borough. The driver was attacked after the accident. Radical activists who blocked a city freeway may have delayed the rescuers who helped the woman.
