An old man with hearing problems crashed his car into a very expensive automobile. The owner of the expensive automobile jumps out and confronts the old man and says “Give me $10,000 cash or I will beat you to a pulp!”
The old man replies, “Woah, wait buddy, I don’t have that much money but let me call my son, he trains dolphins.”

Meanwhile, the son walks over to his father and says “Dad, I train Navy Seals, not dolphins”

Regarding the original topic of this thread, heh: it would be ironic, wouldn't it, if Russia really was doing that (recruiting Afghans)? After all, they (Russia) were the penultimate empire (in a long line) to get their asses soundly thrashed by those folks ...

The only thing I take any notice of is the video footage that comes from many sources, much of it really ugly (that is what war is about) and its where I see so many Ukraiian draftees being thrown into the meat mincer. Dead bodies in trenches after they have been attacked by drones, artillery, air cover, bombed etc ... is not Hollywood, its just these poor bastards dead for no purpose.

The Russians are stacking massive amounts of military hardware for the upcoming assault and once it gets going, it will be carnage. Both sides are currently taking casualties but the best info I have seen is its about 5 to 1 against the draftees in the Ukrainian military.

A war of this type is not about Ukraine winning, that is not possible. Its about prolonging it as much as possible so that the various military/industrial complexes can keep ripping money out of taxpayers pockets paying for the junk being sent to Ukraine. Money that should be spent strengthening the donor economies, repairing roads, assisting industry, improving health care and creating jobs for the population.
