Condolencies to Dave and other Arizona members :icon14:

I find it particularly tragic to see people die who sought to save their neighbours.

Yes, a terrible tragedy. We have a similar problem in OZ where bushfires are common and we have seen the loss of firefighters. It is a hot, tiresome and dangerous job yet these guys have kept trying to save the lives and property of others. I agree with Obama that these guys are heroes.

yes - our hearts go out to the Prescott familes who lost loved ones
as well as those of Yarnell who have lost their homes

Yarnell is a neat little town with great rock formations
and - though i am not particularly religious, they have a little shrine that is cool to visit
the proceeds from the shrine fund an orphanage

the road from Yarnell to Prescott (called Yarnell Hill) has always been a dangerous one
to the east is a large gorge or canyon
the winds are very unpredictable around these mountains
