I got a kick out of this ... Silver Surfers...
« on: June 22, 2013, 02:17:05 PM »
As we Silver Surfers know, sometimes we have trouble with our computers. I had a problem yesterday, so I called Eric, the 11 year old next door, whose bedroom looks like Mission Control, and asked him to come over.

Eric clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem. As he was walking away, I called after him, 'So, what was wrong? ’He replied, 'It was an ID ten T error.

'I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired, ‘An, ID ten T error ? What's that? In case I need to fix it again.’Eric grinned…'Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before? 'No,' I replied.

'Write it down,' he said, 'and I think you'll figure it out.'So I wrote down:ID10T

I used to like Eric, the little knuckle head.

Seemed that\s all talks gays  :dazzled:
But all continue : once I meet stranger (I asked him whom he was, he answered stalker - in that time I think he was steelmaker) that suggested to me sum two same lines of numbers (about 5 less the 100) written on paper - and I wrote differ results. I was amazed and asked him to write down more two lines, with number that I'll say, of course I choose only two numbers and this numbers was two twice - so, I again summed them and again wrote to differ results, that was 4 and 5. So, when I leaned in college, I was only one mathematician that not discarded that two by two sometime five

(X2-Y2) / (X-Y) <> (X-Y)  >>>> X2-Y2 = (X-Y)(X+Y) OR any other combination of factors that the result is the same

(X2-Y2) / (X-Y) = (X+Y)

(X-Y)2 / (X-Y) = (X-Y)
 ;)

... and that took all of 1 second to work out !!

What I wrote above is not code, but simple maths.. anyone with a background in maths would see that.
They would also see that your friend's argument is flawed, and probably lacks maths insight.

I didn't assign values to the variables, your 'friend' did.
All I did was give the correct algebraic formulae (The difference of squares), where as your 'friend' assumed the incorrect formulae from the start, thus ending up with some really funny arguments.
