Book Recommendation
« on: July 03, 2013, 03:34:04 AM »
I was looking through the humor section of my local bookstore,...and, this title (right next to Bill Maher) got my attention:

"Assholes: A Theory", author: Aaron James, published in 2012, ISBN 978-0-385-53565-6.

Here is: a review of the book in New York Magazine.
Here, also, is a long list of reader reviews and discussion: in Good Reads
...And,...here is: Aaron James on You Tube explaining his philosophy.

For you dudes who are constantly mystified by the shenanigans of non-assembly programmers, this book may help. I found that it's not all that funny,...actually, it's refreshingly analytical and philisophical.
But, it's well written,...and leaves no doubt whatsoever as to whether the stranger on the street, or, your new acquaintance is an asshole or not.

...And,...by the way,...I'm definitely NOT an asshole. Yes,...I'm annoying as hell,...but, I'm not really an asshole.

I expect an ugly backlash on that, though,...

And,...this issue is not addressed by Aaron James in his book,...but, is of considerable importance to assembly programmers:

Are Hackers Assholes ???

At least the book was in the right section, next to Bill Maher.
