Really nice to get a text message from the CFS at 10pm last night.
"Prepare your evacuation plan, there's a bushfire headed your way" (paraphrased).
Some absolute peanut had lit the scrub on fire on a 42C day (still 36 at 9pm).
It's not like we live in the bush, it's the suburbs i.e. hundreds of houses.
Lucky for us it was going south-west but could have been unlucky for those hundreds.
The CFS had it under control after a few hours but the worrying thing is that they had to use a water bomber.
Thank doyc that the wind was weak and the firies could get ahead of it.
Roll on summer eh?
