I wonder why Windows is so much slower.

Using AT&T's speedtest : (Direct ethernet connection)

DSL Download Speed (taken less than 2 minutes apart)

Windows XP                      1.20 Mbps
Linux Puppy 5.7.0             2.84 Mbps
