Does anyone have any ideas how to get Win7 pro to boot again, with a new mobo (Z97-A) installation.
I don't have my original OS disk on me  :icon_redface:.. so was wondering if there is a utility to help re-insert the new  mobo drivers into the OS. This is not an OEM window's AFAIK as I have disk, but this is far away.

The old mobo just packed up so no chance of doing those wierd MSoft suggestions

Thanks for any help..

Hello K_F,

The good news is that Vista and upwards are able to detect automatically the correct Hardware Abstraction Layer ( HAL ) during boot. I was able to move a Server 2008 SP2 installation hosted by an IBM x3650 server to an Asus P5Q SE2 motherboard.

You can create a system image, Windows 7 offers built-in support for this purpose :

Notice that you will have to re-activate the Windows 7 installation on your new system.

After restoring the OS, you can remove the unnecessary drivers with a tool like Driver Magician.
