Does anyone have any experience with a PT628?
It is a device that will switch from 1 HD to another. No Dual booting necessary.
Having trouble connecting mine. Didn't get any diagram.

From a quick search of images, I would guess:

  • insert the card into a free PCI slot
  • attach the fat 1-to-4 cable to the big plastic connector on the 'back'
  • attach the SATA connectors to your HDs (use them up numerically - start with 1, then 2..)
  • connect a molex connector (white plastic, four pins, two bevelled corners) to the onboard power; attach a second if you are connecting 3-4 HDs
  • power up and hope for the best

Thanks Tedd for responding.
I have given up on the pt628 as it caused me to fry a motherboard I think.
Going to do more testing to see if I can recover the computer.
To follow your solution, I would have to have a ton of pictures as I don't follow most
of it. Don't bother to do any more explanation as I am very leery of using the device.
It came with no instructions and no power cord. You would need at least 2 power
cords to run the thing.
