Health care costs
« on: October 30, 2015, 09:43:27 AM »
I recently had a T.U.R.P. operation.

Operation took 2 hours and a one day hospital stay.

Bill is $13,800.  :dazzled:

As I am retired, it will take 4.5 years to pay it off.

Take care,

Hi Andy,

haven't seen you in a while, hope you're recovering from operation well.

I assume - you have insurance, but 13,800 is the amount (co-pay) you owe? If so, do u know what the operation cost in total?

Anyway, u have my sympathy ... perhaps u should just blow off the bill, let them whistle for the money
I am NaN ;)

So far, the operation has not reduced the frequency of urination.

But I have read that it can take up to a year for full recovery.

I am fairly patient and fell that things will get better.

I am trying to rebuild my credit score.

I will pay the bill at a rate that I can afford.

Take care,

Sad to say this shows what a farce the US medical system is. Any civilised country has a national health system where people of limited means can get operations when necessary without being shoved into unreasonable debt levels.

Indeed. Zero € in most of Europe.

The national health system is a great idea that every developed country should have. The problem is that politics use it to demagogic matters as if the money it costs drops from the sky, covering much more than it should do, up until this system is in fact broken, as in most of Europe.
The logic of the error is hidden among the most unexpected lines of the program
