A guy shot in the ground by a police woman. The jury found the officer not guilty.

All over an expired ticket.

Make sure you pay your tickets on time.

Is this not just murder?
I can not believe that such people can become cops.
If you are stupid or extremely fat or a chickenshit asshole or a psychological mess you can become a cop in the US?  ::)
It's unbelievable that the jury comes to that verdict. ( they must be very scared for the cops )
Just wait till she kills another human being......

I can not believe this either....
She didn't wanted this to happen.... but she DID... show a few tears and you can get away with it.

I think the "victim" deserves a Darwin award, and the officer deserves a desk job.

i wouldn't be too quick to judge that guy
i think it's simple natural human response to a tazer
that thing that's shocking you needs to be removed, if you have enough muscle control to do anything about it

i think the officer overstepped her authority, and should be charged with murder
otherwise, we have no incentive for officers to keep a check on their response level

She had full authority to stop and ticket him for an expired inspection sticker, and when he didn't stop she had full authority to pursue him, first in his vehicle, then on foot. And when she finally caught up with him, and he apparently still didn't cooperate and  presented her with what she perceived to be a threat, she had full authority to protect herself. He acted stupidly, but admittedly, she acted almost as stupidly. Because she was dealing with a man, at the first sign of a problem she should have called for backup, and waited for that backup before she confronted him.

so, you think deadly force is ok for an expired sticker ?
come on
she hit the tazer button every time he twitched, which caused him to twitch some more

at no time did i see where she was "threatened"

did you watch the video ?

Of course not. He's not dead because he had an expired inspection sticker, he's dead because he behaved like an idiot. All he had to do was stop and cooperate, and assuming that he did not have other violations, he might have gotten a $25-50 ticket.

Her perception is what matters here. She was dealing with a man who was probably larger than her and much stronger.

This is not the first time that members here have disagreed with a jury that in all probability knew much more about what actually happened.

I wonder how well would you comply while being repeatedly tazed.

I do not believe that she deserves a desk job. I believe that she deserves to be without a job and in jail.

He started out by not complying, when he drove away.

Most women are not physically equipped to deal with a man, and it's idiotic for a society to put them in such situations, either as a police officer or a soldier. And it's idiotic for any man, when confronted by a female police officer, to do anything other than comply.

Most women "shouldn't be a cop", or at least not when it means patrolling by themselves and dealing with men. If they are going to be police officers, they should be technicians, detectives, etc. This is a problem with our society being stupid, pushing equality of the sexes when there is no such thing.
