FCA
« on: December 14, 2017, 10:40:35 PM »
Sorry, just as curiosity, today I have received an advertising email from fiat that today is known as FCA (Fiat and Chrysler Automobiles). I had heard that Fiat bought Chrysler some time ago, but what I didn't know is that the FCA headquarters is now in the Netherlands. Why? Anyone knows anything related?

Phew, it was a big Italian firm, it is as whether Telefónica would change its headquarters outside Spain.

Wait and see. Luxemburg, the Netherlands and Ireland are still in the race; Isle of Man will soon have problems in this "competition".

Although the local factories have to pay the local taxes, the holding company will pay the Dutch's taxes, which are lower. Another reason is financing, which is less complicated and with lower rates.
The scenario is typical of the PIG countries, (Ireland does not belong to them any more, I believe).

Don't forget the "S" in PIGS.

From this economic crisis, clever countries will result reforced, and poor countries poorer. Then poorer countries will criticize richer ones for that.

The poor people have to pay the taxes for the rich multinationals, what's new..
The taxes on food and some other low taxed items in the Netherlands have gone up and therefore we pay for those foreign letterbox companies.

The same here, and no big multinational companies have come here :(
