Unhappy milestone, the 2000th American died in Afghanistan.
« on: October 03, 2012, 10:53:30 AM »
I confess even though I see the Taliban as a bunch of fruitcakes, I have never supported the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan. These guys defeated Alexander the Great, the Moguls, the English 3 times, the more recent Russian invasion and are in the process of destroying the current occupation forces. The US have bumped off Bin Laden, the Unocal pipeline will never be built as the Russians have done dirty deals with the various countries that contain the Caspian basin gas and oil so there is no point leaving young Americans in a sh*thole like Afghanistan to die for nothing.

It would be cheaper and more effective to send the Taliban some targets and tripods for target practice rather than using occupation troops. Sooner or later someone must speak up for young Americans who are dumped in a sh*thole like this, I can only hope that Obama bites the bullet and brings the rest home before too many more get killed or maimed. The death toll is now 2000 but the wounded tops 17000 and this is doing massive damage to the US military morale.

Funny thing when this all started I mentioned to a lot a Americans on another forum that they'll lose this war, just like Vietnam, just like any other debacle that they've interfered with.
Hooo boy!! I was literally screamed at by the patriotic... Maybe they're starting to think now!! ;)

Well, one can only have respect for those young Americans that ran off to Canada.
To brave the wrath of your own country is a gazillion time more braver than those poor indoctrinated/forced lemmings that went over as 'cannon fodder', for some sh1thole polititian.
At least some young people have brains.

Bring on war crime prosecutions for politicians.. yeah!!

I'm thinking that politicians are ever trying to success in same geopolitical deals (that's really good), and follow Alexander the Great first is using army forces. But on my opinion in Afghanistan deal in living way of farmers that could earn legal by food and unlegal by narcotics – till second way will be economical more behalf (and stop using afghans those land this way is not easy) any army forces will be losing there.
Americans die in Afghanistan not for nothing – for  Americans that buys Afghanistan white dies – so till politicians won't understand it will be so ...

One of the reason why the previous ZA Nat government here was so successful for such a long time, was that they implemented a policy of minimum force to keep their advantage.

The USA could learn from this by feeding their puppets with required 'old'/low tech weapons and other underhanded goodies/assistance, and doing 'business deals' at the same time.
Exactly the way the CIA handled it when the Russians invaded. The cost would be a pin-prick in the ocean...  If their side loses.. well they were going to lose anyway, but at no cost to American lives - maybe a couple of spies here and there, but that's their lifestyle anyway. I wonder where the USA/CIA dropped the ball ??

The basic story is to let the locals sort out their problems. It could be like watching a RollerBall show
 ;)

Egoistic position – let's afghans downing – only us not much touch.
Here's need to be twice Alexander the Great, that to invent for them some way of cultivating those land by social/economy/political proved way allowed by those nation power - or it will be ill place on the planet till something will disappear at all.

Sometimes (most of the times :) i better shut up, but anyway, 1961 > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntnkLyOrnK8

1990/91 > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QerbT3E2ff8
2010 > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caINuHPKkFQ

I'm not from the black sabath generation, one later ,... how they say it, same shit, different day...

Not that any god will judge them, the history (e)books maybe will...

Does that casualty count also counts suicides among soldiers ? I think it's more then double there they are at war for almost 4000 days and have these days one suicide a day,...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2189656/Army-suicides-active-duty-soldiers-DOUBLED-July-month-reach-record-number.html

And what about the living soldiers with PTSD and other cases of psychological trauma that makes them in some cases a danger,(for themselves and the public)...

And what about all the civilians who have seen a family member blown to pieces and maybe carry new hate for new generations,...

That's not only pigs : War machine keeps turning …
So soldier is till now is most right – because in some events is last VIP.
On my look army down everything from them asked, and now could establish new good order – so to win end those mission need to decide what it could be practically,- if they decide it as bad order - long hairs as Black Sabath's - will say about them such much news, that better suicide than listen it … and I'll advise before go on war listen this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chOYPGPbttM

Hears as diser's song – about war (with what you are general) I advised to think before – not on it – better to execute orders, and not swear on them (that's already general's).

I think is more an issue of what constitutes a victory.

The real reason of invading Afghanistan was to protect the Opium trade. Much needed for heroine.

Sorry guys, but that was the real reason, nothing patriotic about it. Only the perpetrators can say for certain what happen at 9/11. Altough there are clues.

Iraq was done for oil.

Lybia, was done for oil and control of the monetary supply. Suddenly the USA supporting Al-CIA-da, sorry Alcaeda.

Syria, oil. Again AlCIAda at work.

Iran will be for the same. And Both Obama and Romney will go forward with it. As both parties are financed by the same people. (Which BTW, the Fed charter is up for renewal on 2013. A good chance to eliminate the den of poisonous vipers once and for all)

Next will be Venezuela.

Finally Russia.

So if the Russians are stupid and do not help Iran, they will eventually be crushed.

1) I'm sad evolution goes slow, we're in times where we need to evolve into a good global organised civilization or probably the generations that will survive we'll be able to count on our hands.
1) I'm happy evolution goes slow, because what we're evolving into is not a nice clean place,...

The problem is not oil/gold. the problem is a system driven by profit. oil and gold are merely a part of that problem. We could live in a world driven by general welfare and not profit... I'm just a overaged idealist.

Dehumanisation of the opponent is always a part of war, but it's difficult when injecting such a poison into society to keep it under control...

Not that i believe the theory in this video 100%. It has some good parts in it,...

I can't agree more, the world runs on greed and profit. If we humans had any real progressive mind set,we would concern more on "moving ahead for the good of humanity as a whole" As I see it progress is hindered by the constant suing back and forth over methods used to move forward.  At some point we need to concern ourselves more with people's needs and less about who owns what idea, and making progress dependent on if it makes money or not. NASA should always be about what can be done, and less about what it costs.
