I used Resource Hacker but I can't find the icons that Firefox uses in their toolbars.

I want to make an icon to remind me of something.

They're probably in a DLL associated with the application.  A lot of applications that "internationalize" use resource-only DLLs for icons, dialogs, strings etc.

Andy,

Mozilla has many not-so-standard features. But if you need an icon for your private use, screenshots are an easy option ;-)

Magnum

I looked thru every dll, but nada.

I made an icon, I just want to substitute it for one that firefox uses.

I did a search and found an addon.
What search did not show is where fox stores their toolbar icons. ??

I would have to make an icon for the whole set in firefox, then put them all in a grid, and so on.

There has to be some way to replace a single icon in firefox.

Google for chrome://branding/content icon

there is probably a firefox add-in that allows you add icons
i know they have different themes that do it - so, it can't be impossible

Dave,

You may want to re-read my post.

I know those icons are somewhere.
Maybe Firefox has them encrypted and are decrypted at run time.  :t

ohhhh - you are trying to go the other way
mozilla may not store it in resource - it may not actually be an ms icon, either

Check omni.ja file, which is a zip format.

I saw the PK signature in the file but....

Neither 7zip or Winace can uncompress it.

Try IZARC on it... http://www.izarc.org/ ... it opens almost everything you throw at it.

(I'm guessing it's probably a renamed .cab file)

There is some info about it here.
Firefox used to be pretty good about letting customers customize, but I am wondering now.
