Great Toto performance in Berlin

On 5 June 2013, Toto had a great concert in Berlin. It's their 35th Anniversary-Tour 2013 and it was a great pleasure. Steve Lukather was in top form; if one would close the eyes you could ask: Where are the other guitars? But there was only Lukather's guitar together with Nathan East (Bass). The rest was: David Paich (Piano), Steve Porcaro (Keyboard) and Simon Phillips (Drums) + two background artists. The rest was real great hand made music.

The Rolling Stone magazine has published this year a list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists. Number one is, of course, Jimi Hendrix; Eddie van Halen is only number 8 and the real scandal is: Steve Lukather isn't inside the list.

Anyway: I'm waiting now for the visit of the Melbourne based Little River Band.

The list doesn't seem to be reliable enough. I also couldn't find Robert Fripp (King Crimson) and Alex Lifeson (Rush) on it.

:P

yah - that list is whack - lol

Hendrix was ok, but i wouldn't put him at #1
the list has Stevie Ray at #12, and Santana at #20
both of those guys would be in the top 10, Stevie probably #1

i didn't look at the entire list, but i didn't see Kenny Wayne Shepherd or Joe Satriani
they are relatively new, but very good - top 10 or 15, i'd say

the list also has some names that wouldn't be on the top 500 - lol

For a guy who is such a total monster and a true Dinosaur Rock Guitar Hero, you might never realize it, because the bulk of Lukather's recorded work
falls outside of the Hard Rock and Metal genres.
If you happen to like Toto, you're in luck! Of course, if you like Toto, you're probably not here reading this!
If Toto isn't on your radar, you'll have to work to find Luke's work in the context of ballsy material.

I must admit that the only Toto's song I know is Africa
Guess I need to spend more time listening to Steve

yes, you should. You could start with Rosana, Hold the Line and Home of the Brave.

Only one woman in that list (Joni Mitchell), and I miss Leo Kottke.

no, Bonnie Raitt holds position #89. But what is for example with Pat Metheny or Chris Rea or Richie Sambora?
