Weird unidentified application error

This error popped up out of nowhere on my computer:

Since it's referring to an instruction and memory addresses, it smells very much like assembly, so I'm curious. In general, what is that trying to tell me?

It's a buggy application but has nothing to do with assembler. Microsoft wants to convince you of the qualities of Windows 10, that's all

It means that a bad pointer was referenced and caused a write to memory address 0x00000024 - which failed in this case because it wasn't allocated to the process; probably a bad pointer passed to a DLL function.

All programs ultimately run in machine code because that's the only thing the CPU understands; assembler has a very close relation to machine code, but the original program could have been written in any language (which was then compiled to machine code.)
